Originally built in 1898, the San Francisco Ferry building underwent a major renovation in 2003 that transformed the building into a vibrant mixed-use development and a focal point of the city's waterfront.

The renovation involved a complete overhaul of the building's interior and exterior, including seismic upgrades, restoration of the historic façade, and the addition of new retail, restaurant, and office spaces. The project also included the construction of a new public plaza and the rehabilitation of the ferry terminal.
